Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day (or Single Awareness Day to some of you). Simply a commercialized holiday to make the singles out there envious of those who have special plans for their partners..

I couldn't disagree more with this statement.

Valentine's Day. It doesn't have to be with a partner. You don't have to hate it just because you're single (and fabulous!). In fact, you should celebrate this day with your loved ones - and this isn't limited to your boyfriend/girlfriend; this includes your friends and family. Even if you don't have a valentine, be your own valentine. As cheesy as it sounds, you should always love yourself above others.

So dress up, doll up, eat chocolates, have lunch/dinner with your friends. That is exactly what I did this year.

The best part? I was late for class, getting ready for school, but it was so worth it. I felt good about myself.

This year, my friend, Johanna, gave me chocolates and so did my roommate's boyfriend, as a thank you gift for helping him out. On top of that, a random girl came up to me and said the nicest thing anyone could ever say to me. All these little details made me smile, and although I did not have a valentine, I had a fabulous Valentine's Day, and I hope everyone did too.

Fotoshop by Adobé

Found this via Facebook when my friend shared a link to it and I thought it was absolutely brilliant! It's too funny not to be shared.

I love the idea and how the video was executed! And boy, do I wish such a product existed.

Paint Splatter Nail Art

Desiree Ren

In the midst of my semester 1 finals, I decided to try out the paint splatter nail art, as seen in the picture above. I am still new to nail art (I still can't paint my nails perfectly) and I decided to try something very simple.

A lot of my friends asked me how I did it, so I thought I'd share it here!
It's unbelievable how something so simple can evoke so much interest.

Basically, I followed a tutorial by Cutepolish, one of my favourite Youtube channels for nail art - The steps are pretty easy to follow and all you need is a toothpick as your secret weapon.

My only tip is that you use bright, contrasting colours as it grabs more attention. Enjoy!
